Hello! I have been living here in Japan for about 3 years now and I have been working as an English teacher for Disney's World of English. I've taught kids to adults in the amount of time I have been living here, I have worked in the Philippines as well as a volunteer English teacher in public schools for two years.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States. I have two grown children living in Cleveland , Ohio. I am an avid antique collector with a particular expertise in textiles of all kinds, a textile artist and a “lifelong learner”. I earned a B.S. in Merchandising/Marketing from The Ohio State University and a M.A. TESL from Kent State University. Viewing myself as a culturally aware global citizen, becoming an English language instructor was a natural fit. I have taught ESL/EFL since 2010 at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio-USA, Dresden, Germany, Princess Noura University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and most recently Tokyo.
I've been teaching English to all age groups of various abilities for the 11 years I've been living in Japan. I've taught in both public and private schools and originally worked for Nova English conversation school before the company went bankrupt.
I am a professional person who place great value on integrity. I therefore strive to be the best I can while approaching all reasonable tasks with maximum commitment.
As mentioned above, I love to impart my knowledge in english to someone who is interested, willing or in need to learn the language. I am currently teaching English to some elementary, junior high schools and adults with some of my vacant times. My early education had nurtured the very foundation of my English skills, from the very basic American alphabet, correct grammar up to sentence structuring had more than enhanced my skills in English language. Further studies allowed me to learn how to teach alphabets through phonics and on how to be more creative in class in order for the students to learn and at the same time enjoy English.
